The National Federation for Credit Counseling issued a press release with the following headline: Majority of Americans Ready to Change Banks if Fees Increase.
Pretty attention-catching, eh?
According to their survey of 2,172 individuals (conducted from their website — which, I must say, calls into question the representativeness of the sample), when asked what they would do if their bank raised the fees on their checking account, 51% said they’d shop for another bank.
