More and more retail financial institutions are trying to liven up their online experience by redesigning website homepages with an emphasis on visual simplicity. These sites take design cues from the retail and entertainment sectors, relying heavily on a combination of photography, color and white space to create a contemporary, marketing-focused front page.
Please note: Sites were selected purely to illustrate how banks and credit unions can incorporate principles of branding and marketing (i.e., personality and sales) into their online strategies. Architectural issues and UX were not factors in the selection of these designs, although we did note the degree to which each website was responsive (websites were deemed fully responsive if they dynamically scaled to smartphone widths in a browser window).
