I'm so glad to see these sites featured on your blog. With so much confusion over our current economic situation, it’s hard to know who to turn to for help. But by encouraging us to work together and take advantage of community resources, people are finding that they are capable of recovery and even success!

It was so much fun to work with Arizona Central Credit Union to help launch the Get AZ Moving website, and we really hope that it’s able to make a difference!

Thanks for the mention Jeffry.

I've been keeping my eye out for sights like this, and am somewhat surprised that - after these all were all launched around the same time - we havn't seen anything new like this in a while.

Personally, I think the Helping AZ site is the best of the three. It's easy to navigate, focused, and really shows some restraint - as there really isn't any direct/shameless promotion of Arizona State Credit Union. In today's marketplace, people don't want to be sold...so having real people offer feedback to real problems seems to work well, especially among so much consumer uncertainty.

I think it's also worth mentioning that these are examples of institutions using social media beyond Twitter, Facebook and MySpace - which are often times viewed as the entry-level social media venue. While these three initiatives may experience different levels of success, I'd bet that each drives better results than if the institution had relied on the Twitter/Facebook approach.

Innovative ideas continue to come from smaller banks and credit unions. Great resources and great use online use.

Great examples of how social media and an attention to your online efforts can work to your advantage. Also goes to show you the true benefit of social media results in not talking about yourself, but helping others.
