Hi Brett. Thanks for the comment.

Having worked with your firm on branch prototypes and design projects, I can personally attest to the efficacy of the SafeCatch model. Anyone thinking about a future branch project should take a look. Here's a direct link to a four-page PDF info brochure on Safe Catch.

I checked the FBI's site the other day and didn't see the 2007 data out yet. As soon as it's available, I'll post an update with a comparison.

Jeffry:
The numbers are telling. It would be interesting to view 2007 numbers as well to see if any trends are developing.

If an institution has a robbery problem, or the perception of a problem, drilling deeper is really critical. For example:
- by state
- by urban | rural | suburban
- by institution... this one is a bit sensitive but the data may reveal the most interesting clues for those seeking a strategy to mitigate a robbery problem.

We have been working with the FBI in the Puget Sound over the last two years to develop and deploy SafeCatch and SafeCatch Architecture™. This strategy integrates robbery prevention and apprehension with customer service on ‘steroids’. Bandits barriers are not apart of this program, but empowering staff is. Customer service becomes a strategy for taking back the lobby from the bad guys and increasing service and sales.

A few national and community banks and some credit unions have deployed this program with startling results. Bank of America in Washington has seen a 70% reduction in robberies.
